First-cycle studies, long-cycle studies

In case special predispositions are required for admission to a given field of study, a foreigner should prove that he/she has such predispositions. The aptitude test shall be held before the competent examination board.

The Jan Kochanowski University entrance exams are held for the following majors: Artistic Education in the Art of Music and Physical Education.

Candidates from abroad who want to study at Jan Kochanowski University must confirm their knowledge of Polish language, as the studies are conducted in Polish. Confirmation can be obtained through:

                completion of a one-year Polish language course in units designated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, or

                possession of a certificate issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language, or

                obtaining confirmation from the Commission for the Knowledge of the Polish Language appointed by the rector of the accepting university that the candidate’s preparation and level of proficiency in Polish make it possible for the candidate to undertake studies in this language (based on an examination or recognition of the certificate/diploma in Polish).

The obligation to submit the documents referred to above does not apply to persons who have a first degree diploma or maturity certificate obtained in Poland.

Second cycle studies

In the event that a candidate for the second-cycle studies, has qualifications outside the area of knowledge of his/her chosen field of study, then he/she must enter an interview taking into account the educational results of the first-cycle studies for the chosen field of study.
