Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce is the largest university in the Świętokrzyskie region and one of 25 classical universities in Poland.
The University has nearly 10,000 students and offers over 60 fields of study. Its research areas cover a wide range of topics within 21 disciplines in five fields: natural sciences, medical and health sciences, humanities, social sciences, and arts. The university is no longer local in its character, as nearly half of our students come from areas outside of the Voivodeship of Świętokrzyskie. The number of our foreign students is also growing.
The University has a modern campus located on Świętokrzyska Street in Kielce. It also has several buildings in the very center of Kielce and a student town, also in the center.
It is the only university in Poland located in the mountains. The city has two ski lifts and five nature reserves. Other advantages include lower costs of living and study compared to larger academic centers.
