Electronic Student Card

Application for the issuance of an Electronic Student ID Card:

The design of the Electronic Student ID Card is defined in the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 27 September 2018 on studies (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1861, as amended).

The regulation in the following paragraphs defines the functions that the Electronic Student ID Card performs or may perform, as well as the rights and obligations of students in connection with holding the ID card:

  • “§ 7. 1. The student ID card is a document confirming the student status.
  • 2. The right to hold a student ID card is granted to students until graduation, suspension of student rights, or removal from the list of students, and for graduates of first-cycle studies – until 31 October of the year of graduation.
  • 3. In the event of damage to or loss of the student ID card, the student is obliged to immediately notify the university.
  • 4. The validity of the student ID card is confirmed each semester by entering the validity date and an official seal with the national emblem, and in the case of the electronic student ID card – by updating the data in the electronic system and affixing a hologram, the design of which is specified in Annex No. 4 to the regulation, in consecutively designated fields on the card.
  • § 8. 1. The Electronic Student ID Card may be used at the university, in particular as a library access card and a card granting access to technical devices and laboratories.
  • 2. The Electronic Student ID Card may also be used outside the university.”

Functions of the Electronic Student ID Card

ELS may be used for the following purposes:

  • confirmation of student status at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce,
  • visual identification of the student,
  • access to the Academic Campus of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce,
  • access to the University Library resources,
  • access to university printing center functions,
  • the ELS may serve as the Kielce Municipal Transport Card (ZTM Kielce) – applicable to cards issued from the 2013/2014 academic year.

The Electronic Student ID Card cooperates with the following machines:

Self-check machine at the University Library

After registering the ELS as a library card at the University Library, students can use the self-service borrowing station.
Books available in the “open access” section can be borrowed and returned using the machine, where the user authenticates with their ELS card.

Kielce Municipal Transport Card (ZTM)

The ELS can also function as the Kielce Municipal Transport Card (ZTM Kielce).
The card must be registered by visiting any ZTM service point in Kielce – complete the form and make a top-up payment.

The ELS card serves as a personalized Municipal Transport Card (KKM).

Parking meters of the Kielce Road Authority (MZD)

After being registered as a Kielce Municipal Transport Card and topped up with cash at the Kielce Road Authority (MZD) located at 14 Kościuszki Street, in the Paid Parking Zone Department,
the ELS card can be used to pay parking fees in Kielce parking meters.
