Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce (UJK) is committed to building a research environment founded on integrity, transparency, and equal opportunities. By signing the Declaration of Support for the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers in August 2016, the University undertook to bring its internal policies in line with European standards for research and researcher development..

In February 2017, UJK was awarded the HR Excellence in Research logo by the European Commission, recognising its commitment to fair recruitment, favourable working conditions, and the professional growth of researchers at all career stages. The award confirms the University’s dedication to fostering a creative, responsible, and supportive research culture in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

UJK’s Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) focuses on four key areas:

  • ethical and professional standards,
  • recruitment and selection processes,
  • working conditions and social benefits, and
  • training and career development.

Together, these areas provide the foundation for a modern and inclusive research environment that promotes openness, mobility, and continuous improvement.

Here we present UJK’s ongoing implementation of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), together with the main strategic documents, action plans, and reports on progress. This section also provides guidance on open and transparent recruitment (OTM-R), professional growth, and institutional support mechanisms.
